Solid Maple or Walnut delivers the warmest hand feel and best wear depth, and it can be refinished over a long service life. Veneer gives you the look of real wood with better dimensional stability across temperature and humidity swings, often at a lower cost than solid. All-fiber is the lightest and most economical option, designed to read as a wood top while being easier on the budget and the freight. If aesthetics and longevity matter most, go solid; if value and stability matter most, go veneer or all-fiber.
