Honestly, not much. They are all names for the same thing: upholstered bench seating, set against a wall or stand freely in a space. At FurnitureLab we tend to prefer “wall bench” but you can call it whatever you want! A wall bench is one continuous run, with fewer legs, no gaps, fewer spots to collect dust and debris, and a more built-in look. Whatever you call it, we craft them all.
We like to say our products are not custom, but they are fully customizable! Booths are a fabulous canvas, and they are built to order. You can specify any shape or height, any leg or base style, any tufting pattern, and any contract-grade textile, vinyl, stain, or laminate depending on the base model you choose. We most often use Formica, Wilsonart, and Omnova Boltaflex Colorguard NFR vinyl, but we will grade in whatever you like as long as it's rated for commercial applications. Add power, partitions, or collaborate with us on a fully custom design. If you have a creative idea, our Account Managers would love to hear about it.
You will need a template, and we make it easy. Request our free templating kit! You'll get templating paper, tape, a utility knife, a marker, and a return mailing tube. One pro tip: finish the drywall before you measure. For freestanding booths 48 inches high or taller, plan for user-supplied blocking to prevent tipping. Our team can walk you through it.
